The Various Applications of The MitiGator

The MitiGator cushioning system developed by Sea Systems Group was originally designed for military vehicles such as the Cobra attack helicopter and the Humvee.  Since 2006 Seas Group has branched out to the consumer market with its Gator X line of MitiGator products.

What’s great about the MitiGator are the various applications it can be used for. One example are handles for items such as metal baseball bats and hammers.  Since these items are subject to vibration when used, MitiGator material placed on the handle can decrease impact vibration reducing the sting you get on your hands when force is applied. Another great use can be cases for electronic devices such as the iPad or iPhone.  These Mobile devices are constantly moved around thus increasing the chance of impact damaging the device.

MitiGator casing can provide sufficient protection when these devices are dropped or abused. The MitiGator material is light weight so it will not be a burden when used on an iPhone or other electronic devices. The MitiGator can also be applied as legs for large furniture and appliances. Presently the legs that are on many major appliances and furniture are made out of rubber or some sort of plastic. Over time these legs can wear causing the appliance to tilt creating inconvenience for the user. The MitiGator material lasts indefinitely providing support for the life of the product.

Currently Seas Group is developing prototypes for stock car seats, sports armor, gloves, and other applications.  If you have any ideas or suggestion on uses for the MitiGator, click on the media link below.

The MitiGator™ Technology is an engineered cushioning system designed to protect people and equipment from these assaults and to allow them to continue to perform their jobs or enjoy their leisure time. The MitiGator™ uses patented air control technology working with over 4,000 surfaces per square foot to dissipate energy before it is transmitted to the body and thus help alleviate the problems. MitiGatorinc.com To Present The Latest In Shock MitiGation During The MACC: June 14 – 16

On June 14-16 MitiGatorinc.com will be on hand at the Multi-Agency Craft Conference (MACC). During the conference on June 14th MitiGatorinc.com will be presenting at the Medal of Honor room at 2pm. Exhibitors and event attendees will be presented with the latest in shock mitigation: The MitiGator Cushioning System! Attendees of the conference will be shown how the MitiGator is designed to absorb and dissipate the energy from impacts and vibrations.

The primary focus of the MACC is the dialog between the Department of Defense and other government agencies on common issues unique to boats and craft in their service. The types of craft discussed range from Army & Navy service craft to Navy and Coast Guard patrol boats to Naval Special Warfare and Marine Corps combatant craft. Craft types include RIB’s, patrol and insertion craft, landing craft, utility craft and special purpose craft.

MitiGatorinc.com will have a busy month of May, as we will also be displaying the MitiGator Cushioning System on May 17th – May 19th at the 2011 Special Operations Forces Industry Conference in Tampa, Florida. The same weekend we will be also be at the 2nd annual Michigan Defense Industrial Base Expo in Warren, Michigan.

The latest innovations in MitiGator

These hockey pads equipped with MitiGator are just one of the projects we have been working on this summer

This summer has been a busy one for MitiGatorinc.com, we have been hard at work not only protecting our troops over seas. But we have also spent the majority of the summer equipping different products with the MitiGator cushioning system. We have been finding different applications and equipping them with MitiGator. If you have been keeping up with our blogs you will of seen most of these MitiGator equipped products.

Motorcycle riders can now get MitiGator equipped boots!

This past summer we equipped a Seadoo with MitiGator equipped foot-well pads along with MitiGator equipped gloves

We have also equipped paintball gear with MitiGator, and have seen amazing results

MitiGator is an engineered cushioning system that is designed to eliminate vibrations and impacts. It was originally designed to protect military crews from IED and mine blasts as well as during helicopter crashes, we have a track record in protecting people from severe impacts (20 to 300+ Gs). There are over 75,000 US military vehicles that use the MitiGator for impact protection. If you have any questions about how MitiGator can help you send me an email at John@MitiGatorinc.com.

Impact Injuries

Impact Injuries: boatImpact injury is a major problem for many people who must work in aircraft, hi-speed small boats, recreational vehicles, heavy equipment and other tactical vehicles during military training and missions. These impact injuries range from spinal injuries obtained during one time events (such as a mine blast or a crash landing of a helicopter) to spinal, lower torso and limb injuries resulting from repeated impacts that occur as the result of constant impacts related to high speed operation of tactical vehicles (such as the pounding into waves in a small boat). Impact Injuries: trackMany military careers are ended or restricted due to the injuries sustained during training or operations. These injuries can be as disabling as spinal cord injuries resulting in paralysis (as in a blast event) or somewhat more subtle joint injuries that prevent personnel from continuing a mission because of the pain induced by repeated impacts in a small boat.

Impact Injuries: racing seatSEAS staff have developed The MitiGator™ Technology, which is a cushioning system (utilizing one or more layers of The MitiGator™ Technology that dissipates much of the energy of impacts and prevents that energy from passing through to the human body, thus reducing the level of injury sustained. The MitiGator™ Technology is as effective against repeated impacts (high speed boats or ground vehicles) as it is against one-time events (crash landings).

Impact Injuries: cross sectionThe MitiGator™ utilized in the cushion has been shown to attenuate as much as 40% more energy than standard or conformal foam systems.

The MitiGator™ Technology is an engineered system; specific MitiGator™ configurations can be designed for specific applications. Along with its good energy-attenuating characteristics, The MitiGator™ has the added advantage of returning to its original configuration after impact, making it suitable for repeated impacts. The cushioning system is made of materials that will survive in a marine environment. Studies have also shown that the system also acts as a vibration attenuating system as well.
