John Gibson Runs Well, Has Tough Finish at Hickory for Team Mitigator

HICKORY, NC (April 22, 2013) - – After a strong run at the beginning of the race, John Gibson and his Gibson Motorsports team came home a disappointing 12th at the Catawba Valley 250 at Hickory Motor Speedway this past Saturday.

After having to replace the transmission in John’s #13 Mitigator Ford Fusion late Friday night before heading to Hickory, the Gibson Motorsports team was cautiously optimistic going into Saturday’s morning practice.

“We just want to thank Buzze Racing for renting us a transmission at the last minute like they did. Without it, we probably wouldn’t have been able to run this race. We look forward to seeing what we can do with it,” John said early Saturday morning.

The afternoon qualifying session left John and his Mitigator Ford Fusion starting the race in 8th place.

As soon as the green flag fell, John began making his way towards to the front of the field. A little over fifty laps into the race John was holding strong in the top five and by lap 70, he had climbed his way up to third.

The team took four tires, fuel, and made adjustments during the halfway break, and restarted 11th. John was happy with the adjustments and his MitiGator Ford Fusion was up to 6th by lap 185 when they were involved in an incident with Gus Dean on the backstretch.

“I was really happy with the MitiGator Ford Fusion after we made some midrace adjustments. We were moving through the field when we got turned. Although we didn’t finish where we wanted to, I feel really confident about this car and I look forward to racing it again,” John said. “I also just want to thank our sponsor, MitiGator. We love having them on board and appreciate their ongoing support.”

After the incident, Gibson Motorsports experienced battery issues and couldn’t get the car to re-fire. They finished in 12th place. The Gibson Motorsports team hopes to be back on the track at Motor Mile Speedway in Radford, VA in June.

The Mitigator Ford passing for 2nd at the CARS X-1R Pro Cup Series Season Opener

This past Saturday marked the opening weekend for the 2013 X-1R Pro Cup Series. Excitement built over the offseason as it was announced that the series would be paying a huge $10,000 to the victor of each event. The MitiGator Ford Fusion and the Gibson Motorsports team were on hand after spending the majority of their evenings in the week preparing the car for the upcoming event.

When they arrived on Saturday it wasn’t long before the MitiGator Ford was already up into the top five in practice. The Gibson Motorsports crew and new crew chief Tony Lambert would turn a lap of 17.3 in practice that was good enough for fifth on the sheets.

After picking up almost a half a second in qualifying, the MitiGator Ford would start the event from the fourth position. However, It wouldn’t take long before Gibson made his way into third and was battling for 2nd.

At the mandatory half-way break, the Gibson Motorsports crew made some quick adjustments, and after the new redraw restarted the race from the fifth position. “It was just so extremely tough to pass tonight, that I knew that the redraw was going to hurt us a bit,” said driver John Gibson. The competition in the pro cup series is known for being one of the tightest in the country, and saturday was no different.

After battling a tight racecar in the 2nd half of the event, the MitiGator Ford Fusion was unable to advance through the field and crossed the finish line in the 6th position. Not a bad way to start out the 2013 season. Up next for the CARS X-1R Pro Cup Series is the 2nd event of the year at the historic Hickory Motor Speedway. The MitiGator Ford will be battling again for the $10,000 winner’s check on April 20th.

The seat within the 600 horsepower MitiGator Ford Fusion has been equipped with the MitiGator Driver Protection Technology. The SFI certified MitiGator absorbs and dissipates energy caused by bumps in the track, crashes, or even engine vibration. This not only protects the driver, but also allows him to focus on the most important thing when at the track – Winning the race. For more information on the MitiGator Cushioning System email MediaRelations@MitiGatorinc.com

Safety must come first!

Shockproof your addiction

Whatever your addiction is: motorsports, boating, motocross, mountain biking,… The list could go on. The first priority of any of these has to be to make the ride/experience as safe as possible. That is the purpose behind Mitigatorinc.com, to show you a new safety innovation that can make your addiction safer.

A lot of times we just associate the pains that come from whatever we are riding/driving as pains that you must experience because of the ride. This was the case last year before I had the chance to experience sitting in a MitiGator equipped seat in our USAR Pro Cup car. After every race I would always have lower back pain and would hardly be able to stand up after a race because of my back. But when I got to try the MitiGator Equipped seat for the first time the results were phenomenal. At first I couldn’t tell a whole lot of difference between sitting on just foam, compared to sitting on the MitiGator. But as soon as the race was over, I noticed that my back wasn’t sore. Infact, I felt like I could run another 250 laps. In fact I look at it as an advantage over the competition. When the track is beating them up, I have something that will absorb the impacts and vibrations so my body doesn’t have to.

The point of the MitiGator is to absorb impacts and vibrations, and dissipate the energy from them over the mitigator instead of being transmitted through your body. So don’t simply accept that the pain you experience is something that can’t be eliminated. Send me an email, John@MitiGatorinc.com and we’ll see what we can come up with to make your addiction that much safer and more comfortable. This month alone we have prototyped MitiGator equipped MotoCross gloves, MotoCross boots, Stock Car gloves, Boating Seats, PWC Gloves,  Mountain bike seats, and Motorcycle seats, just to name a few. Mitigator Ford Fusion to tackle the high banks of THE ROCK

The MitiGator Ford Fusion will arrive at the rock 3rd in points after three straight top ten finishes to start the year.

There are some race tracks that I absolutely love to go to. The one mile speedway in Rockingham North Carolina is one of those places.  Rockingham Speedway is perfect for the USAR Pro Cup Series cars. The track is extremely fast with speeds well over 160 mph.

The Mitigator Ford Fusion will be on hand friday for practice and qualifying, and then Saturday afternoon for the 200 lap event. If your going to be in the area on Saturday, stop by Rockingham Speedway and introduce yourself during the autograph session.

The MitiGator Ford Fusion will be putting it’s Mitigator outfitted seat to the test as the track has not been repaved in quite sometime. The track is extremely rough in spots and by having the MitiGator impact and vibration resistant material in the seat, it allows me to keep my concentration on one thing – Winning!
