By now I would hope you know what MitiGator is, but everyday we get new visitors to our blogs and this site with the same question. How can Mitigator help me? Well the answer to that quesiton is, it all depends. MitiGator is an engineered cushioning system that is designed to eliminate vibrations and impacts. It was originally designed to protect military crews from IED and mine blasts as well as during helicopter crashes, we have a track record in protecting people from severe impacts (20 to 300+ Gs). There are over 75,000 US military vehicles that use the MitiGator for impact protection.
So back to the answer, it all depends on what you need it for. For instance, if you’re a Motorcycle rider that has enjoyed a lifetime of riding. But have always hated the back pain that comes with it. Then, we can install MitiGator into your motorcycle seat and help eliminate the back pain that comes from riding. The MitiGator will absorb the bumps and vibrations from the open road so that your back doesn’t have to. We have received testimonials and first hand experience that MitiGator can help eliminate lower back pain.
Or if you love playing paint-ball, but can’t stand the bruises that you end up with the day after. Then we can install MitiGator into your chest protector and eliminate those annoying bruises. As you can see the applications are endless, so send me an email today (John@MitiGatorinc.com) and let me know how we can help you!
Mr. Richard McKinney
MitiGator High Impact Cushioning Systems,
As a Father I would like to thank you for your MitiGator High Impact Cushioning System, my son Hunter was fitted at Richardson Racing Products for new custom built seat with the MitiGator High Impact Cushioning System being installed, I see now how that allowed them to build us the best Race seat I have ever seen. I was told of how your MitiGator System works in other race cars and boats along with the ability to protect our soldiers as they use it in the Military Vehicles of all types. I want to let other parents know that if they have a Son or Daughter racing or they race themselves they need to install this product into their seat. It will make any professional racing seat safer and more comfortable. With the introduction to the MitiGator High Impact Cushioning System as Matt at Richardson’s Racing Products installed it at their facility I became a true believer in the ability of how MitiGator would make our new seat the safest seat we could provide him.
Last Monday night at Charlotte Motor Speedway my son Hunter’s new custom racing seat for his Bandolero Race Car was tested as he had the worst crash of his racing career. As he was practicing he came out of the second turn and another car spun-out right in front of him leaving him nowhere to go but hit him hard. Hunter hit him with his car that weighs in at 765 Lbs. creating a violent impact that caused a lot of damage like the following we bent the Rack and Pinion steering which is located in the car and inside the driverscompartment, bent the Spindle and A-Frame, destroyed the front support Horns and Bumper, and completely wiped out the Front body of the Car. But to our surprise Hunter limped the car back to the pits with out as much as having the breathe knocked out of him, it was amazing Hunter said he was held so tight in the seat that he absolutely felt NOTHING except the spoke in the steering wheel snapped back and bruised his hand.
After the night was over I told Todd thank you to for insisting on us installing this amazing safety product into our new custom built Richardson Seat. It is my opinion that the MitiGator should be mandatory in all forms of Racing after seeing it work first hand. Hunter said it was cool he didn’t feel anything but WOW what a difference in crashing a Bando compared to my quarter midgets, the Bandolero hit was the hardest I have ever been in and I am glad to know I am so safe in my car. Hunter thought Matt was cool when he made him a special seat cover that matched his race car but Monday night he was really Glad Matt took the time to fit him and add the MitiGator system to his seat.
Thanks Again,
Donald Richards (Father)
Hunter Richards (Driver)
Well, it took a bit of time, effort, and creativity, but we finally got the new R&D Proto-Type Lab up and running, but it wouldn’t be complete unless we actually had signage. So here we go, and it’s a hell of a sign. So if you are into sports of any kind that is subjected to hitting, falling, shaking, jumping, crashing, or any other kind of roughness (get the picture), look us up and let us know what type of protection you are looking for. We deal with helmets, chest protectors, gloves, shoe inserts, seat inserts (anything from boats, to cars, to motorsports and heavy equipment), pelvic protectors, and just about anything else you can think of that would need protection from shock and impact.
We are located at 7826 Causeway Blvd, Unit C, Tampa Florida 33619 and our office number is 813-623-5900. This facility is our new state of the art R&D Prototyping lab. Our main focus here will be on consumer and Professional Sport equipment, but we will also support our main Corporation of Seasgroup Inc based out of Clarksville, VA.
MitigatorInc. LLC is proud to announce the opening of our New Research and Development Lab in Tampa Florida. Rick McKinney, the Division President, and Barb McKinney, the Division Vice President are extremely excited to expand it’s Seasgroup Inc mother company, that specializes in Blast and Shock Protection for Military Applications, with it’s new Consumer based division and development Lab. MitigatorInc.’s main goal is to utilize the Mitigator Technology found in its Military division, and implement it into consumer based products.
Some products that are being reviewed for development are Baseball Helmets, Football Helmets, Hockey Helmets and full body armor. In conjunction with looking into consumer products, MitigatorInc is looking at professional sports athletes protection. ”We currently have professional athletes, specifically Professional Hockey Players, that are interested in what the Mitigator Technology can do for them. Professional Hockey, and Football are two of the most violent impact/injury prone sports currently played today in the United
States”, quoted Robert Masse, Director of Engineering for MitigatorInc.
“With the ongoing discussions regarding Professional Athletes and injury prevention, especially in light of all the discussions and press by the NFL and concussion prevention, this is an opportune time to show the NFL that there are far superior solutions to the problem than just modified styrofoam. We want to be able to supply a quality product, in a timely manner, that is far superior than anything else on the market while ensuring that our favorite past times are continued to play with as much physical support to the athletes that entertain us weekly.
David Pearson Piloting the Mitigator Ford Fusion around Bristol Motor Speedway
The Mitigator Ford Fusion was on hand at the SCOTT’s EZ Seed Showdown this past weekend. The event was a success as we got to meet a lot of great NASCAR fans on friday at the SCOTT’s Hospitality booth. Fans got to meet David Pearson and get his autograph and get their picture taken next to the Mitigator Ford that was going to be driven by Pearson. Saturday after the Nationwide race, the Mitigator Ford Fusion took to the track for the race. Because of a bad draw, Pearson had to start last (12th) in the 35 lap event. He quickly worked his way up to 6th and looked to have one of the best cars out there. Unfortunately he would kiss the wall coming off of turn 4 midway thru the event and from then on the car just wasnt the same. The race was marred by one accident where Larry Pearson took a vicious hit in turn two. Larry spun in turn two and then Charlie Glotzbach had no where to go and crashed right into the drivers door of Pearson’s ride.
Seasgroup's own Rick McKinney was on hand for the event, Rick is shown here pushing the back of the car.
This brought out a lengthy red flag, and David decided that since the car wasn’t handeling all that great, and since his son was being transported to a local hospital that it was probablly best to start heading that way to the hospital. Larry had to undergo surgery on a broken ankle on saturday and has a broken pelvis and hand. But the family has said that he is ok but will require more surgery for the broken pelvis. All of us from Mitigatorinc.com wish Larry a speedy recovery and hope to see him back at the racetrack soon.
David Pearson was coming thru the field before slight contact with the wall wounded the car.
Many photos were taken from the event and we have posted a few of them here on Mitigatorinc.com. Thanks to everyone who came by and introduced themselves on Friday. It was a great event, and now the Mitigator Ford is being furiously worked on to race at Jefferson, Georgia this weekend. Come out at Gresham Motorsports Park this saturday March 27th to see the Mitigator Ford Fusion in action.

John Gibson, driver and co-owner of the USAR Pro Cup Team MitiGator™ Gibson Motorsports #13 Ford Fusion race team has joined Sea Systems Group, Inc. as Marketing and Sales Specialist this month. Sea Systems was a sponsor of the race team in 2009 and has signed on as primary sponsor for the 2010 USAR Pro Cup race season.
John brings special talent to the MitiGator team due to his unique experiences and education. John has been an active racer since he was thirteen years old and has been an USAR Pro Cup driver since 2005. In 2009 John finished 8th in driver points in the USAR season. As part of the sponsorship program John races using a MitiGator lined race seat that he says is “awesome” at preventing back and leg pain after the races. This experience makes him very well qualified to help transition the MitiGator technology to extreme sports padding of all types.
In addition, until recently John was Technical Editor at Circle Track Magazine and wrote several technical papers for the magazine each month and was responsible for daily postings on two racing blogs. “This background will serve our goals of increasing our web presence using the blogosphere, Twitter, YouTube and other internet tools” says Rick McKinney, VP of SEAS.
“John’s emphasis of study at Southwest Missouri State University was in Entrepreneurship and that is a talent much in demand at SEAS as we grow the company in these turbulent economic times” says Rick.

MitiGator is produced by Sea Systems Group in Clarksville, VA. Gibson Motorsports is not the only organization that thinks Sea Systems Group is a class act. On December 11, 2009, Sea Systems Group was awarded the Clarksville Chamber of Commerce Business of the Year Award.
MitiGator was originally developed as an engineered product that was, and continues to be heavily used in military vehicles in all aspects of combat. The MitiGator is designed to dissipate a blast, thus protecting troops from death. In 2009 MitiGator expanded into the racing industry to protect race car drivers and their equipment. In addition, the company is looking at other applications that can use the same technology thus reducing the stresses on workers, athletes, and others from repeated shock.
“This is a product that has truly unlimited applications,” said Chuck Gibson, co-owner of Gibson Motorsports. “MitiGator came on board last year and outfitted John’s car. John has reported less fatigue and less low back pain especially following the longer races. We are truly impressed.”
