John Gibson Joins Sea Systems Staff

John Gibson, driver and co-owner of the USAR Pro Cup Team MitiGator™ Gibson Motorsports #13 Ford Fusion race team has joined Sea Systems Group, Inc. as Marketing and Sales Specialist this month. Sea Systems was a sponsor of the race team in 2009 and has signed on as primary sponsor for the 2010 USAR Pro Cup race season.

John brings special talent to the MitiGator team due to his unique experiences and education. John has been an active racer since he was thirteen years old and has been an USAR Pro Cup driver since 2005. In 2009 John finished 8th in driver points in the USAR season. As part of the sponsorship program John races using a MitiGator lined race seat that he says is “awesome” at preventing back and leg pain after the races. This experience makes him very well qualified to help transition the MitiGator technology to extreme sports padding of all types.

In addition, until recently John was Technical Editor at Circle Track Magazine and wrote several technical papers for the magazine each month and was responsible for daily postings on two racing blogs. “This background will serve our goals of increasing our web presence using the blogosphere, Twitter, YouTube and other internet tools” says Rick McKinney, VP of SEAS.

“John’s emphasis of study at Southwest Missouri State University was in Entrepreneurship and that is a talent much in demand at SEAS as we grow the company in these turbulent economic times” says Rick.

MitiGator commits to 2010 sponsorship of Gibson Motorsports

Gibson Motorsports is excited and proud to announce that MitiGator, the primary sponsor of USA Racing Pro Cup driver, John Gibson during the last half of 2009, has signed on to sponsor John for the 2010 season.

Barbara McKinney, President of Sea Systems Group (SEAS) said “We are pleased to be the primary sponsor of John Gibson Motorsports for 2010.  As we get better acquainted, our relationship with them continues to grow beyond USAR Pro Cup sponsorship.  SEAS and Gibson are jointly working to develop and evaluate innovative new MitiGator products for the motorsports industry.  We have high hopes that “Team MitiGator Racing” and www.mitigatorinc.com will evolve into a new business unit that has an impact on all types of motorsports from asphalt and dirt to off-road and offshore.”

MitiGator is an engineered cushioning system designed to protect people from hi-speed, hi-impact assaults and to allow them to continue to perform their jobs or enjoy their leisure time.  The MitiGator uses patented air control technology working with 4,044 surfaces per square foot to dissipate energy before it is transmitted to the body and thus help alleviate problems.

MitiGator is produced by Sea Systems Group in Clarksville, VA.  Gibson Motorsports is not the only organization that thinks Sea Systems Group is a class act.  On December 11, 2009, Sea Systems Group was awarded the Clarksville Chamber of Commerce Business of the Year Award.

MitiGator was originally developed as an engineered product that was, and continues to be heavily used in military vehicles in all aspects of combat.  The MitiGator is designed to dissipate a blast, thus protecting troops from death.  In 2009 MitiGator expanded into the racing industry to protect race car drivers and their equipment.  In addition, the company is looking at other applications that can use the same technology thus reducing the stresses on workers, athletes, and others from repeated shock.

“This is a product that has truly unlimited applications,” said Chuck Gibson, co-owner of Gibson Motorsports.  “MitiGator came on board last year and outfitted John’s car.  John has reported less fatigue and less low back pain especially following the longer races. We are truly impressed.”

On December 11, 2009, Sea Systems Group was awarded from the Clarksville Chamber of Commerce the Business of the Year Award “demonstrating the epitome of entrepreneurial spirit that creates jobs in communities like our town all across the State”  Rick and Barbara McKinney started the company back in 1995 after tyring to come up with a way to create jobs and opportunities in an area that needed Companies and People like this to continue on with the drive of Small Business owners.

Over the years, they have turned the “Mitigator” into a well engineered product that is heavily used in Military vehicles today in all aspect of combat.  The Mitigator is designed to dissapate a blast thus protecting the troops from death.  In addition, the company is looking at other applications that can use the same technology thus cutting down on the “everyday worker” and eliminate common aches and pains associated with sitting and/or repeated shock in heavy equipment.

MitiGatorinc.com is Launched and with New Logo

Sea Systems Group, Inc. (SEAS) is pleased to announce that it has launched the new website to enhance its Consumer & Industrial customer’s interaction with Team MitiGator™.  The new site (www.MitiGatorinc.com) will foster better interactions with customers in motorsports, athletic equipment, extreme sports, heavy equipment, transportation, industry and other non-military applications.

Barbara McKinney, President of SEAS, said “We have been heading this direction for quite some time.  Our traditional website (www.seasgroup.com) reflects our strong background in military and homeland security applications and we feel that it can be intimidating to potential customers not used to working with the military.  MitiGatorinc.com will be fun and consumer friendly, utilize new social networking technologies and be a multimedia site. This is a big endeavor and will take time to fully implement.  We encourage people to visit frequently as the site advances.”

The site allows auto-bookmarking to all of the popular networking systems like Twitter, Facebook, digg, reddit, and nine others.   It is video enabled and allows visitors to comment by posting their own video and seesmic comments in addition to the more traditional typing of comments.  It is optimized for iPhone/mobile display so that potential customers can conveniently use it on the move.  Data, products, information and announcements will be updated on a regular bases – it will be much less static than a conventional website.

Impact injury is a major problem for many people who must work in aircraft, hi-speed small boats, recreational vehicles, heavy equipment and other tactical vehicles during military training and missions. These impact injuries range from spinal injuries obtained during one time events (such as a mine blast or a crash landing of a helicopter) to spinal, lower torso and limb injuries resulting from repeated impacts that occur as the result of constant impacts related to high speed operation of tactical vehicles (such as the pounding into waves in a small boat). Many military careers are ended or restricted due to the injuries sustained during training or operations. These injuries can be as disabling as spinal cord injuries resulting in paralysis (as in a blast event) or somewhat more subtle joint injuries that prevent personnel from continuing a mission because of the pain induced by repeated impacts in a small boat.

SEAS staff have developed The MitiGator™ Technology, which is a cushioning system (utilizing one or more layers of The MitiGator™ Technology that dissipates much of the energy of impacts and prevents that energy from passing through to the human body, thus reducing the level of injury sustained. The MitiGator™ Technology is as effective against repeated impacts (high speed boats or ground vehicles) as it is against one-time events (crash landings).

The MitiGator™ utilized in the cushion has been shown to attenuate as much as 40% more energy than standard or conformal foam systems.

The MitiGator™ Technology is an engineered system; specific MitiGator™ configurations can be designed for specific applications. Along with its good energy-attenuating characteristics, The MitiGator™ has the added advantage of returning to its original configuration after impact, making it suitable for repeated impacts. The cushioning system is made of materials that will survive in a marine environment. Studies have also shown that the system also acts as a vibration attenuating system as well.
